RESONATE

                                                 by: Nancy Duarte

It is a book on presentation skills that how a person should present, what should be the flow of presentation, what should come first and what should come last, what should be the ideas which should be used by a presenter to attract their audience and to bring any type of  change in them, if a presenter know all this then he can bring changes among their audiences and if presenter is able to bring change among his audience then he can consider himself as the winner.

some of the main learning from the book

You Are Not The Hero :
Always remember that if you are presenting then you are not  the hero but your audience is your hero.while presenting always keep in mind that your audience is your hero and treat them in that way and take them on a journey and while presenting never use the words like let's talk about me, it's all about me, you need my help, i am best,my product is best, my market cap is huge because if you will use words like this then your audience won't like to listen to you . If we take an real life example if we spend time with an person who use all this type of words all the time then we don't like to spend time with the person who has this type of  personality  so obviously if being an presenter you will use this type of words then your audience wiil not like that.

The Hero Journey :
while presenting always keep in mind that you should take your audience on a journey as we all watch movies and we know the flow that there is always a beginning where hero will be with lot of problems or he will not be so rich then in the middle of the movie a hero will meet his mentor who will guide him and will try to turned his life and in the ending everything will get change a hero will fulfill all his wishes he will become rich and there will be an happy ending. so that should be the same flow which a presenter should use.

Beginning: Paint a picture of the realities audiences current world .
Middle:Present contrasting content alternating between what is and what could be
Ending:End the presentation on a higher plane then it began

Segment your audience:
It's very important to know your audience well before giving any presentation because if you know your audience then you can give example according to the segmentation you have done. understanding your audience is very important before giving presentation.so before giving any presentation just try to know your audience.you can segment by using any variables like by taking age, geographic, gender etc you can any variable.

Recall Stories:
Try to recall the stories which you have listened or share the real life experience you can make stories as an example because it will help your audience to understand your topic for a longer time this i can say  because at some time we have listened stories from our grandparents and we can recollect that story after fifteen sixteen years so stories can be used as an example.
You can tell story related to any PLACE this can be any place it's not compulsory that it should be a known place it can be your office place, your house, your loving point any place with which you have a story .
story related to any PERSON it can be your faculty, your mentor, friends, family member anyone.
story related to THING it can be a small thing or very big thing if you have story related to that thing you can   use thing.

Put Your Story On Silver Screen:
Once you have collected all the ideas and you know what to present and you know your audience now it's time to make your presentation that means putting your ideas in presentation form. so while making presentation always keep in mind that always keep one idea per slide because there is no use of putting more than one idea per slide that will confuse your audience and we all know that we don't have to pay for the slide so use as many slides as possible. Just try to keep your presentation as simple as possible. Try to turn your words into picture that will attract your audience.

Gain Competitive Advantage:
After giving a presentation try to gain some competitive advantage from your audience always try to make any type of change among your audience if you are able to make any type of changes among your audience then you can say that you are the winner and you have gained something from that presentation.
